I firmly believe that when making cocktails the results will be only as good as your ingredients. I guess I mean that buying inexpensive brands usually results in a less delicious drink. I don’t feel that way about wine. I’ve had lots of great wine that was inexpensive. When it comes to cocktails you should buy the most expensive brand you can afford. For a great cosmo, Cointreau is a must- triple sec is just yucky, please don’t buy it. Please?
For one cocktail: (a shot glass is usually a 1 oz. measure)
- 2 oz. vodka, I used Stolichnaya
- 1 oz. Cointreau
- 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz. fresh pomegranate juice
- lime wedges for garnish
- 1 oz. club soda or lemonade -optional
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in all the ingredients and shake very well. Pour into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a lime wedge. This is a strong, martini-style drink. If you like you can add a bit of club soda or lemonade to dilute it.
