One of the activities my son loves to do on a rainy day is decorate cookies. Making, coloring, and using different colors of icing can be messy and time consuming. Painting cookies is a fun, simple way to decorate without a bunch of extra work. All you need is heavy cream and food coloring.
- 1 batch of your favorite sugar cookie dough
- 1/2 C. heavy cream
- Food coloring in a variety of colors
- paintbrushes, water, and paper towels
Prepare your sugar cookie dough and chill it. (I can’t vouch for the success of store bought dough, try it and let me know how it comes out!) Roll it out and cut into your favorite shapes. Use an ice cube tray create several different colors of “paint”. Use about 2 T. of cream in each cube and several drops of food color- to your desired hue.
Paint the cookies as you like. Place on a cookie sheet and bake according to your recipe.

Nice job Henry. You are so talented.
